This June, I had the absolute pleasure of performing at Tewin Bury Farm in Hertfordshire for a truly special wedding. It was my first time at this stunning venue, and I was immediately struck by its charm and versatility. Tewin Bury Farm is a fabulous choice for Hertfordshire couples seeking a blend of rustic elegance and modern convenience. With its picturesque Tythe Barn, beautiful gardens, and attentive staff, it sets the perfect stage for a memorable day.
The photographer, Chris Douglas, was a fantastic help throughout the day. He guided me to the best setup locations and even coordinated with the groomsmen to help move my piano between spots—teamwork at its finest!

Personalised Music for a Heartfelt tewin bury farm wedding
The wedding ceremony took place in the gorgeous Tythe Barn. Spacious yet cozy, this barn provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s deeply personal music choices. Pre-ceremony, the groom requested a special piece, Cornwall My Home by Fisherman’s Friends. With roots in Cornwall, it was his way of bringing a touch of home into the day. As guests were seated, the familiar melody sparked smiles, and one family member even mentioned they nearly started singing along!
The bride’s entrance was equally meaningful. She chose Love Wins All by IU, a Japanese song introduced to her by her bridesmaid after a trip to Japan. Hearing it for the first time, she instantly knew it was the one for her walk down the aisle. Keeping this song a surprise for her bridesmaid made the moment even more touching, with emotion and joy filling the barn as the bride made her way to the altar.
During the signing of the register, I played All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera and It’s Your Day by Yiruma, creating a serene and intimate atmosphere. For their exit, the couple’s love of Coldplay inspired them to select Charlie Brown. This upbeat choice, arranged beautifully for piano by Francesco Parrino, added an energetic and celebratory note to the conclusion of their ceremony. You can listen to a live recording of their exit music here.

A Sunlit Drinks Reception in the Gardens
After the ceremony, I moved my piano to the garden area, where the gazebo offered the perfect shaded setup for the sunny day. Guests mingled and enjoyed canapés while I played a selection of background music to keep the atmosphere lively and relaxed.
One standout moment was playing The Shire from The Lord of the Rings, which got an enthusiastic response from guests (perhaps we had some hobbit fans in the crowd!). As always, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You brought smiles and singalongs—it’s one of those pieces that never fails to get a reaction.
The bride and groom’s decision to include live piano music during their drinks reception meant they could enjoy the melodies even as they stepped away for photos. It added a seamless flow to their day, and I was thrilled to see how much it enhanced the overall ambiance.
