I love to visit new venues as a wedding pianist, and this summer has seen our team travel far and wide around the UK. In August, I was thrilled to be booked to play for a Middleton Lodge wedding in North Yorkshire. As my husband and I decided to stay in the area for a few days, it also meant I was able to take part in a photographer workshop at Middleton Lodge a few days later. And what a joy it was to be able to visit this gorgeous wedding venue twice in four days! It is a venue that oozes elegance, luxury and sophistication, and was the perfect setting for an Italian Dream photo shoot.
The shoot took place in and around the Fig House on Middleton Lodge Estate. The Fig House is light and airy, making it the perfect blank canvas to transform into an Italian dream wedding. As well as gorgeous interiors, the Fig House leads out onto the most beautiful gardens, with a perfectly manicured lawn surrounded by beds of beautiful flowers, including lavender bushes that smell divine!

A Middleton Lodge Wedding Ceremony
These gardens are the perfect place for an outdoor summer wedding ceremony. Trees at the front of the lawn provide shade, and with sun and blue skies you could truly imagine you were in the south of Italy. It’s the perfect place to publicly declare your love for one another and celebrate the start of your forever!

The Fig House Wedding Reception
Back in the Fig House, long tables with neutral fabrics, green and white florals and pops of yellow lemons set the stage for a Mediterranean feast. Our Grand Piano looks stunning against the green foliage and complimented the large black window surrounds. With minimal fabric, the acoustic in the Fig House lends itself to live music, allowing the sound to carry throughout the venue serenading you and your guests whilst you enjoy your meal. Imagine listening to piano covers of Coldplay, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift; modern covers with a classical twist bringing the finishing touches to an elegant Middleton Lodge wedding reception.

As the sun sets and the lights begin to twinkle, the Fig House is the perfect space for your first dance. As you twirl and sway to your favourite song being played on the piano, your guests cheer and even shed the occasional tear as they share in your happiness.
