Working with HMH Piano Collective
HMH Piano Collective is a premium wedding piano collective providing elegant, beautiful live music for weddings and events across the UK.
We believe live music should feel personal, immersive and emotionally connected to the atmosphere of the day; from the sense of anticipation before the ceremony begins to the final conversations over dinner.
As HMH continues to grow, we are occasionally looking to connect with exceptional pianists who align with our approach, values and standards of service.
WHY WORK WITH hmh piano collective?
Working with HMH Piano Collective is designed for pianists who love performing, but who do not necessarily want to build and run their own wedding business.
Many of the musicians we are looking to work with already have portfolio careers – teaching, accompanying, freelancing or performing in other settings – and are looking for an additional stream of enjoyable, rewarding performance work without the pressure of sourcing clients, marketing themselves or managing the day-to-day administration that comes with running an independent wedding business.
At HMH, all client communication, bookings, logistics and administrative processes are handled centrally. Our pianists are able to focus on what they do best:
preparing beautiful music, delivering exceptional performances and creating a memorable atmosphere for couples and guests.
We provide:
- clear systems and processes
- training and guidance
- repertoire support
- structured client experience standards
- and ongoing operational support
This role is best suited to musicians who enjoy being part of a team, rather than building a personal wedding brand independently.
For the right person, it offers the opportunity to enjoy the creative and rewarding side of wedding performance while being supported by an established brand, trusted systems and a collaborative team environment.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for pianists who combine exceptional musicianship with warmth, professionalism and emotional intelligence.
Our ideal pianist is:
- Classically trained with strong pianistic ability
- Comfortable performing contemporary music (eg. Ed Sheeran, Olivia Dean, Taylor Swift) as well as classical repertoire
- Able to interpret and adapt music creatively, rather than simply reading from a score
- Calm, personable and professional in high-pressure environments
- Warm and approachable with clients and guests
- Organised, reliable and proactive
- Willing to learn and follow the HMH approach and systems
- Comfortable working independently at weddings and events
- Passionate about creating beautiful musical experiences
Previous wedding experience is not essential. For the right person, training and support will be provided.

Our pianists represent the HMH brand throughout every stage of the wedding day, and we place huge value on professionalism, communication, reliability and creating a calm, enjoyable experience for couples and guests alike.
We are looking for people who genuinely connect with this approach and are excited to be part of a growing collective with high standards, a strong reputation and a clear long-term vision.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is HMH Piano Collective an agency?
HMH Piano Collective is intentionally different from a traditional agency model.
Couples do not book individual “named” pianists in the way they might with a standard entertainment agency. Instead, they book the HMH Piano Collective experience: a consistent approach to musicianship, professionalism, atmosphere and client care that is shared across the team.
Every HMH pianist is trained in our approach and represents the collective as a whole, ensuring couples receive the same high level of experience and service regardless of which pianist performs on the day.
How does payment work?
HMH pianists are paid per booking, with fees varying depending on factors such as:
- the type and length of the booking
- location and travel requirements
- equipment requirements
- whether a grand piano shell is used
- and the level of experience within the collective
All work is offered on a freelance basis. Further details are discussed with suitable applicants during the application process.
What equipment must I provide?
You are required to provide your own digital piano and amp, both of which must be PAT tested annually. You must also be able to use a tablet for your sheet music, along with a bluetooth pedal for turning pages
Do I need to provide a grand piano shell?
No – the grand piano shell is provided by HMH Piano Collective.
Do I need to be able to play by ear?
No! An ability to pick out melodies and chord patterns is helpful. You do need to be able to read from a melody line and chords and improvise your own accompaniment, bringing your own creative style to songs
