Our Pianists

Rebecca

Rebecca was brought up surrounded by music, and fell in love with piano at a young age.

She began teaching piano lessons as a young teenager and went on to study music at Cardiff University, graduating in 2007 with a BMus degree and obtaining a Masters degree in Music Composition the following year.

She continued to compose following her Masters degree; her passion is to write music that crosses the boundaries between genres and appeals to classical and non classical music lovers alike.

In 2010 Rebecca was commissioned by the piano and flute duo Tranquillo to compose and arrange their debut album. The music attracted reviews from the British Flute Society and The Musicians Union. Some of her highlights have been having her music performed as part of the Welsh BBC proms and also at the St Martin in the Fields (London, Trafalgar Square) concert series. She has had a collection of her works published by Broadbent and Dunn and has completed commissions for educational publisher Alfred Music Publishing.

Being asked to play something unusual, and arranging it so it suits the occasion beautifully. The Batman theme was a particular highlight
being able to include her own compositions in her wedding repertoire
watching the family and friends of the couple during the wedding ceremony from her seat at the piano. The way they all seem to glow.
