A Magical Fairyhill Wedding: Jak and Kimberly’s Unforgettable Day

Fairyhill in the Gower is a truly enchanting venue, and it’s easy to see why couples fall in love with it. One of its standout features is the stunning K Room, a space that feels like it’s nestled in the treetops, thanks to its glass surround. Saying “I do” here feels like stepping into a woodland fairytale, and it provided the perfect backdrop for Jak and Kimberly’s beautiful Fairyhill wedding day.

The K room at Fairyhill is set up for a wedding breakfast. The tables are dressed with white linen and white and green flower arrangements. There are white sashes on the chairs, the a black grand piano is set up to the s=left side of the room.

The couple chose our Diamond Package, which meant I had the pleasure of providing piano music for their ceremony, drinks reception, and wedding breakfast—all accompanied by our elegant black grand piano. But it wasn’t just the venue that made this wedding so special; Jak and Kimberly incorporated deeply personal touches throughout their day, creating moments that were truly unforgettable.

A Unique and Emotional Ceremony at a fairyhill wedding

The ceremony was one of the most memorable I’ve ever been part of, as Jak, a self-taught pianist, wanted to play Kimberley down the aisle. This was a first for me, and I was thrilled to help bring such a unique vision to life!

We placed the piano centrally at the end of the aisle, allowing Jak to play while watching Kimberly walk towards him. As guests arrived, I set the tone with some gentle background music, including a piano cover of Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer for the bridesmaids’ entrance.

When the time came for Kimberly to make her grand entrance, I stepped aside, and the registrar explained to the guests what was about to happen. Jak then sat at the piano and began playing as Kimberly walked down the aisle. Many guests were moved to tears, not only by the emotional music but by the surprise of discovering Jak’s hidden talent—it was a truly breathtaking moment which you can watch here.

For the signing of the register, I returned to the piano to play A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton and Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys, both chosen by the couple. The ceremony ended with a joyful and energetic rendition of Circle of Life from The Lion King as Jak and Kimberly walked hand-in-hand back up the aisle to cheers and applause.

Personalised Music for the Day

After the ceremony, I moved the grand piano to the bar area, setting up near the terrace doors so the music could flow both indoors and outdoors as guests enjoyed drinks and photos. Kimberley and Jak had curated their background music by colour-coding my repertoire list, making it clear which songs they wanted for the drinks reception and which for the wedding breakfast.

They also used their five song requests—an option included in all our packages—to add even more personal touches. Their chosen songs were:

  • Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer
  • My Life by Billy Joel
  • Flowers in the Window by Travis
  • Ylang Ylang by FKJ
  • Candy by Paolo Nutini

Each song carried special meaning for the couple and was connected to loved ones who are no longer with us, making these moments even more poignant. It was a privilege to help honour their memories in such a beautiful way.

A Stunning Venue and Exceptional fairyhill wedding Day

Fairyhill’s stunning surroundings and helpful staff made everything run smoothly. They assisted with moving the piano between locations, ensuring I could seamlessly provide music throughout the day. Jak’s love for piano music was evident, and it was an honour to play a part in creating such a meaningful and joyful celebration for him and Kimberly.

I can’t wait to return to Fairyhill for more magical weddings this year!
