Lucy and Akil’s wedding at Dewsall Court was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, Dewsall Court is an enchanting venue with lush grounds, a historic church, and endless charm. It’s the perfect setting for couples looking to combine elegance with nature. For Lucy and Akil, it offered the idyllic backdrop for their outdoor ceremony, held under the shade of a grand willow tree by the ancient church. The scene was set with vibrant florals and rustic seating, giving the whole event a bright, summery feel.
A Personal Touch to the Ceremony
Lucy and Akil’s ceremony was truly unique, made extra special by their celebrant who shared personal stories about the couple, creating an intimate, heartfelt atmosphere. The ceremony aisle was framed by striking floral columns from Jasper & Quinn, blending tropical greenery with bold pops of colour, which looked stunning against the natural surroundings.
Adding to the beauty of the setting, the couple opted for our Grand Piano to be placed under the willow tree beside the aisle. It not only enhanced the elegance of the ceremony but also provided the perfect backdrop for the carefully curated selection of pre-ceremony songs they chose, creating a soothing ambiance as guests arrived. Their playlist included:
- Hans Zimmer – Now We Are Free
- Marvin Gaye – I Heard It Through the Grapevine
- Elton John – Your Song
- Norah Jones – Don’t Know Why
- The Beatles – With a Little Help from My Friends
- Yann Tiersen – Comptine d’un autre été: L’après-midi
- Minnie Riperton – Lovin’ You
- Debussy – Arabesque

A Ceremony to Remember
The emotional peak of the ceremony came as Lucy walked down the aisle to Into My Arms by Nick Cave, a beautifully moving moment that brought tears to many eyes. During the ceremony, one of Lucy’s bridesmaids performed Video Games by Lana Del Rey, a song that held deep meaning for the couple. It was a privilege to accompany her on the piano, following a quick rehearsal before the ceremony. Watching Lucy and Akil’s faces light up as they heard the song performed live was a moment of pure joy.
For their recessional, the newlyweds made their exit to Nina Simone’s I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free, an uplifting and celebratory choice that had the guests clapping and cheering as they walked back up the aisle.
