I recently had the pleasure of playing piano for a wedding at the breathtaking Blackwell Grange in Warwickshire, and I’m so excited to share some details about this unforgettable day. Blackwell Grange is a venue full of charm and elegance, perfect for couples dreaming of a romantic countryside wedding.
The Ceremony in the Thatched Barn
The couple chose to hold their ceremony in the stunning thatched barn, which feels almost like a beautiful old church. The barn’s high, rustic beams and warm, natural tones create an atmosphere of timeless romance, and the acoustics are truly spectacular. Live music fills the space with a rich, resonant sound that makes every note feel even more meaningful. There’s also an option to have a fire lit during the ceremony, adding to the charm and creating a wonderfully cozy ambiance.

For the ceremony, the couple selected a thoughtful mix of classical and contemporary pieces. The bridal party made their entrance to the timeless Canon in D by Pachelbel, which set a serene and elegant tone. During the signing of the register, I played I Giorni by Ludovico Einaudi and the enchanting A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman, capturing a sense of joy and anticipation. As the couple made their exit, the romantic melody of A Thousand Years by Christina Perri accompanied them, filling the barn with love and celebration.

The Reception in the Orchard Barn
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Orchard Barn for the wedding breakfast. This space has a more modern and open feel, with bifold doors that can be completely opened on a sunny day. Luckily, we were blessed with glorious weather, and the venue made the most of it! With the doors open, guests enjoyed a gentle breeze and stunning views of the surrounding countryside as they dined.
The Orchard Barn perfectly combines rustic charm with contemporary style, making it a fantastic setting for a relaxed yet sophisticated meal. The food was absolutely divine—Blackwell Grange kindly provided me with a main course and dessert, and every bite was incredible. The staff were so friendly and attentive, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

A Special Memory and Acts of Kindness
One memorable moment from the day was a small adventure involving my wedding rings! Just before the ceremony, I realized I’d accidentally left them in a shop I had stopped at before arriving at the venue. In a moment of pure kindness, both the florist and Didi, one of the wonderful owners of Blackwell Grange, sprang into action. They rushed to the shop to check if my rings were still there while I stayed and played for the ceremony. Thankfully, a thoughtful customer had handed them into the staff at the shop, and they were waiting safely for me. I was so grateful to both the florist and Didi for going out of their way to help—it’s a testament to the caring and supportive atmosphere at Blackwell Grange.
Music for the Wedding Breakfast at a blackwell grange wedding
Throughout the wedding breakfast, I played a variety of pieces to create a joyful and inviting atmosphere. The music was a mix of classical and contemporary songs, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy. With the beautiful weather and delicious food, it was a perfect way to continue the celebration.
A Special Venue, Cared for with Love
It was a true delight to perform at Blackwell Grange for the first time. The venue is clearly cared for with so much love and attention to detail, making it an incredibly special place for a wedding. From the stunning thatched barn to the welcoming staff, every element comes together to create a magical experience.
